Advocacy & Consultation

Through membership and active participation within Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (formally Hospice Association of Ontario) – Canada's largest volunteer hospice organization promoting quality home-based, volunteer hospice care – we lobby the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to promote the value of home hospice palliative care to assist people living in diverse communities with a life-threatening illness.

Our expertise in end-of-life care and pioneering Care Team volunteer model of service are frequently sought by those needing to plan their in-home hospice care.  We provide information on a range of services and resources:  community-based services, palliative care, and pain and symptom management.  Additionally, Hospice Toronto provides a special service to those living a distance from an ill family member in Toronto by connecting them to appropriate services close to their relative’s home, while also advocating on their behalf.
